Mount Hiei belongs to the Okue mountain range and has a landscape reminiscent of a Chinese landscape painting, and has been designated a national scenic spot.
It is a series of monolithic granite porphyry rocks and is famous nationwide as a great rock climbing spot.
Senjojiki Observatory is located just after the trailhead of Mount Hiei.
You can see the majestic cliffs of Mt. Hiei and Mt. Yahazu right in front of you, and it's a great place to casually bring a lunch box and head over.
