Towards the end of the Edo period, a bonito fishing boat was returning to port when it discovered something like a large wooden box floating in the waves. Twelve fishermen on board pulled the box up and opened it with a hatchet, revealing a skeletal human face, lush blonde hair, a silver necklace, sparkling jewels, a golden crown, and other items.
Fearing the curse, the fishermen buried it secretly on a small island in Hii, saying, "It is useless to tell anyone."
As time passed, word of this secret spread, and people from outside the island came to search for the wooden box (treasure), and during wartime, even the police and military would come to the island to look for it.A university professor who visited the island to conduct an investigation said, "Could it be the coffin of a queen from the Mexican Civil War?"This led to the idea being called the "Golden Legend of the Mexican Queen," and the truth remains a mystery and is still passed down to this day.
