The waters around Shimanoura are home to colonies of approximately 100 species of coral, including a variety of colorful soft corals. Among them is a colony of the "Giant Bachi Coral," said to be one of the largest in Japan. The name "Nove☆Star" comes from the fact that Nobeoka's star guides, who belong to the NPO Himuka Moving Experience World, guide visitors in the Nobeoka style.

In case of an emergency, an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is brought to each experience site, and while sufficient safety precautions are taken, guides are required to take a first aid course.

Nobeoka boasts beautiful beaches perfect for families. The beaches in Nobeoka are shallow with calm waves, making them ideal for young children's first swimming experience.
Shimoaso Beach boasts white sand that has been selected as a "Special Selection (No. 1 in Kyushu)" in the Ministry of the Environment's "Top 100 Beaches for Swimming." It also has a free "river pool" that uses river water, so even small children can safely enjoy playing in the water.
Furthermore, Sumie Beach is another popular beach that has been selected as one of Japan's "Top 100 Beaches," boasting a beautiful sandy shoreline stretching for approximately 150 meters. Both beaches have accommodations adjacent to them, which is a great advantage as you can stay overnight after a full day of fun. In addition, Kumanoe Beach, located between the two beaches, offers a beautiful white sand beach that stretches for 800 meters, making it a quiet, hidden gem where you can relax as if you were on your own private beach.

Campsites are scattered along the beaches and in the mountains, such as "Hamayu," making them ideal bases for activities. A natural leisure facility at an altitude of 868 meters.
ETO Land is a leisure facility in Kitagata-cho, Nobeoka City, where you can spend the whole day having fun amidst the rich natural surroundings. Admission is free, and the park offers go-karts, mini-golf, electric carts, athletic facilities, comic book cars, as well as table tennis, billiards, rental toys, a kids' corner, and more, making it enjoyable for people of all ages, from adults to children.
The facility also offers seven rental villas: three two-story villas (one of which is barrier-free) and four single-story villas. Each villa is equipped with a bathroom, kitchen, and bedding sets (for up to six people), allowing guests to relax and enjoy their stay amidst nature.
Furthermore, options such as BBQ rentals and self-catering sets are available, making it ideal for group and family outdoor experiences.

Spread across the hills near the center of Nobeoka City, Nobeoka Botanical Garden is a lush green oasis that is loved by locals as a place of relaxation throughout the year. The vast grounds of approximately 8.7 hectares are filled with blooming flowers that change their main focus with each season, offering a new look every time you visit.
The garden features a greenhouse filled with tropical and subtropical plants, a herb garden, and a beautiful lawn, where even a leisurely stroll is sure to soothe the soul. There are also three observation decks offering panoramic views of the garden, and a playground complex that will delight children. Enjoy a picnic on the lawn or stroll along the forest path bathed in sunlight filtering through the trees—it's the perfect place to refresh with family and friends. The Flower Festival held in spring is a must-see, offering a breathtaking sight, with approximately 50,000 flowers of 20 different species blooming simultaneously, including blue carpets of nemophila and colorful silenes. The adjacent Green Consultation Center also hosts gardening classes several times a month, providing a place for residents to interact with plants.

Kyushu's largest sports park opened on April 29, 2025. It features one of Kyushu's largest skating courts where you can enjoy skateboarding, inline skating, BMX cycling, and more, as well as a three-on-three basketball court, all of which are free to use.

In addition to a variety of baths and saunas, there is an all-weather indoor heated swimming pool with a slide (with a kids' land for toddlers), a complex facility directly connected to JR Nobeoka Station with a cafe where parents and children can enjoy reading and educational toys surrounded by many books, and an aquarium where you can encounter freshwater fish from the Gokase River system and rare fish from the Hyuga Sea. It is also a year-round comprehensive health and leisure facility with a large public bath, health studio, royal room, restaurant, and more. There is a wide variety of baths available, including a spacious and relaxing far-infrared sauna, menu baths, whirlpool baths, reclining baths, and open-air baths.
A citizen activity hub called "Encross" has opened in front of Nobeoka Station!

Approximately 800 fish are on display, including the rare Akame fish that only lives in a few places in Japan and the Hyuga Nada Sea fish.

In Nobeoka, "harvesting experiences" that allow you to directly experience the bounty of nature are also popular. At Sumie Beach and other locations, you can try your hand at "beach seine net fishing," a traditional fishing method. This experience requires a minimum of about 20 people, so why not invite your relatives or friends and their families to join you? The sense of unity you feel as you all work together to pull in the net will be an unforgettable experience for children, and being able to taste the fish you catch on the spot is a major highlight.
In addition, you can enjoy a variety of experiences that allow you to immerse yourself in Nobeoka's rich food and culture, such as fruit picking which can be enjoyed in each season, ayu fishing in clear streams, and shore fishing in the sea.

A truly moving experience guided by outdoor specialists
Himuka Inspirational Experience World, commonly known as "Nove☆Star," is an NPO that brings together specialists who can guide visitors to truly inspiring experiences in a variety of fields, taking advantage of the outstanding potential of Kyushu's number one mountains, rivers, and sea in Nobeoka City.
In addition to providing information on authentic outdoor experiences, we also offer a variety of programs to increase interest in the natural environment and outdoor experiences.
[Commonly known as "Nove☆Star"]
The name "Nove☆Star" comes from the fact that Nobeoka's star guides, who belong to the NPO Himuka Moving Experience World, guide visitors in the Nobeoka style.
It was established to organize programs, introduce guides, promote cooperation between guides, and promote information exchange and interaction, as well as to create rules and engage in conservation activities to protect experience fields, and to develop stay-based and destination-based tourism.
In case of an emergency, an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is brought to each experience site, and while sufficient safety precautions are taken, guides are required to take a first aid course.

Novel☆Star will provide the necessary equipment for each program, such as helmets and life jackets. (Swimsuits and bath towels must be brought by the participant.)
Specialist staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about participating in the program or the details. This is an adventure-like program where you walk through a river interwoven with huge rocks and crystal clear water, sometimes swimming and going against the current to reach the upper reaches. You can experience the mysterious clear stream, which changes color from cobalt blue to emerald green depending on the light.

Please try our strawberries, which are carefully grown with great attention to water and soil!
At this 1000m2 farm, you can enjoy picking sweet and fresh Saga Honoka strawberries.
During the strawberry picking season (March to May), the store sells limited-quantity packs of strawberries. They also sell a variety of sweets, including the familiar strawberry soft serve ice cream from their mobile food truck, sweet and sour gelato-style sweets, and strawberry parfaits. Everyone from children to adults can enjoy it.
We have started a tourist strawberry farm!
The six spacious houses have wide aisles and are stroller-friendly. You can enjoy comparing the taste of four varieties of strawberries (Saga Honoka, Beni Hoppe, Tochiotome, and Oi C Berry). Popular varieties are first come, first served!
Enjoy seasonal northern fruits grown in the rich natural environment!
We organically cultivate Miyazaki's specialty brand kumquats (Tamama variety), Kitakata's specialty Chiyohime peaches and Jiro persimmons, as well as grapes and other fruits. At the Kitakata Yochimiro roadside station, we also sell various sweets made with our harvested fruits. You can also enjoy sweets at our cafe located right next to our farm. Please enjoy the seasonal fruits!
