The festival is planned and run entirely by an executive committee composed of citizen volunteers, including the Matsuri Nobeoka Promotion Council. On the day of the festival, more than 1,000 citizen volunteers are involved in setting up, running, and dismantling the festival. The festival begins with the "Encounter Mikoshi" where bearers compete to show off their bravery, followed by a taiko drumming competition, and culminates in the "Banba Grand Dance" with over 3,000 citizen participants.
The next day, a fireworks display will be held, illuminating the night sky with a magnificent display. The viewing area is close to the launch site, so you can experience the power and realism of the fireworks firsthand.

[What is Bamba Dance?]
Unlike the currently popular "Shin Bamba Dance," "Bamba Dance" is a dance with long narrative lyrics based on a spoken word song. It is a traditional performing art that is said to have been passed down since the Edo period, and its origins lie in the Bon Odori dances that were performed in each district of Nobeoka.
