The "Firefly Museum" in Kitagawa-cho, Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, is a key facility within the Sobo-Katamuki-Okuzure UNESCO Eco-Park. You can enjoy exploring freely using bicycles rented at the Firefly Museum (meeting place).

This house is associated with Saigo Takamori, who stopped by when his army fled to Kitagawa after suffering a major defeat in the Battle of Wadagoe. It is now a museum where Takamori's favorite belongings and war documents are on display.

The mound at the foot of Mount Kawai, said to be the final resting place of Ninigi-no-Mikoto, the grandson of the sun goddess Ninigi, as told in the myth of the descent of the sun goddess, has been designated as a reference site for an imperial tomb by the Imperial Household Agency. Hiking around the Hokoiwa rock formation on Mount Kawai is also a popular activity.
